What Teachers are Saying About Gov. Bev PerdueMarch 19, 2010 | LeShea AgnewEducators from across the state are coming to Winston-Salem today for the annual North Carolina Association of Educators annual convention.
It's being held downtown at the Benton Convention Center. Teachers and school officials will have the opportunity to voice concerns surrounding recent teacher and funding cuts by the General Assembly.
NCAE President Sheri Strickland says teachers still fear more possible salary and job cuts and they are are especially concerned about Governor Beverly Perdue's future state regulations.
Day two of the convention begins today at 9am and lasts until about 5pm this evening.
More than 1,000 educators are expected to attend. The convention runs through Saturday.
NCAE is the state's largest education association representing nearly 60,000 active, retired and student members.
