Super Tuesday
March 6, 2012 |
Voters in 10 states are impacting the 2012 Republican presidential field on this Super Tuesday. They're casting their ballots for who they believe is the best challenger to President Barack Obama.
North Carolina holds its primary on May 8th - and some question how important the state will be in helping to determine the Republican presidential candidate.
High Point University assistant political science professor Martin Kifer says Super Tuesday alone won't select the Republican candidate. "I think what matters for North Carolina is who wins in which primary and how many delegates they earn over the next few weeks," says Kifer. 1,144 delegates are needed to secure the Republican nomination. No one will reach this goal today.
