Reflection of Russell PeckMarch 10, 2009 | Kathryn MobleyGreensboro Police say the body of a man found in the Battleground Park woods is world renowned composer Russell James Peck. The body was found Saturday in a wooded area off Whitehurst Road.
Police say Peck's death is a suicide.
On March 1--Peck disappeared from his home, which is near these same woods. Family and friends believe the 64-year-old took a walk on one of the trails. His wife Cameron reported him missing when he didn't return home.
Friday--the family will hold visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 3506 Lawndale Drive.
Saturday there will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. at the church, followed by a committal in the memorial garden.
Peck was an award winning composer and his work is played by symphonies around the world.
