Piedmont Ozone Level Will Be Orange All Week

June 7, 2011 | Kathryn Mobley

The combination of heat and pollutants is pushing the Piedmont's air quality into the Orange range.

According to the Forsyth County Environmental Affairs Department, ozone refers to the combination of heat and pollutants in the air we breath. The more pollutants in our air, the worse the air quality. Ozone is indicated in colors ranging from green to purple. Green indicates low air pollutants. Purple indicates high in air pollutants and very unhealthy for breathing.

WFDD's Kathryn Mobley says Orange will be the status in our area for the rest of this week.
