Off the Ice and in the Studio with Dorothy Hamill

October 3, 2010 | LeShea Agnew

Dorothy Hamill led the 18th annual Women's Only 5k Walk and Run.

The event has raised more than 400,000 dollars for the Mammography Scholarship Fund which helps women in the community detect and overcome breast cancer.

The Olympic gold medalist discusses what she is up to these days and her own personal struggle after being diagnosed with breast cancer 2 years ago.

Hamill is credited with creating the Hamill Camel...a figure skating spin. She won her first Olympic medal in 1976.

The 2011 U.S. Figure Skating Championships will be held January 22nd through the 30th at the Greensboro Coliseum.

This is the first time the championships will be held in the Carolinas.

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
