MoveOn Will Protest Outside Obama Campaign Headquarters

March 15, 2012 |

A grassroots organization hopes to presuade President Barack Obama to do more for people at risk of losing their homes. This evening at 5, MoveOn groups across the country will stage protest rallys outside Obama Campaign Headquarters in their communities.

In Greensboro, members will gather at 229 North Greene Street. They'll also deliver petitions asking the President to release funds from Fannie May and Freddie Mac so homeowners can re-adjust their mortgages.

Guilford County is averaging a little more than 290 new foreclosures per month. To help new buyers from experiencing this, community organizer Ken Knight recommends, "Ask everyone you know who owns a house if they know a really good honest buyers' agent who will represent your interest and make sure you're getting a good deal. And if you don't know anyone in Greensboro who has bought a house, you can call the Greensboro Housing Coalition."

There are about 400 MoveOn groups nationwide with a membership of around six million.
