More jobs planned at TIMKO plant in Davidson County

November 7, 2011 | Keri Brown

North Carolina Governor Beverley Perdue and community leaders from the Triad gathered in Wallburg to see the new operations at TIMKO Aerosystems. The company demonstrated how it manufactures its trade mark FeatherWeight airline seats. Kip Blakely, TIMKO Services Vice President, said hundreds more jobs will be created at the plant.

“The governor did announce that had hired 140 employees and we are well on our way to hiring 500 employees in the coming years. We currently are manufacturing seats today for three different airlines from three different continents so it is pretty exciting to be making aircraft furniture if you will and shipping it all over the world,” said Blakely.

Blakely said the new jobs are in addition to the 1,800 people TIMKO already employs at its corporate headquarters at the Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro.
