Winston-Salem based Krispy Kreme is partnering with an advertising company to develop a mobile and desktop application that informs consumers when the "hot now" button comes on at their favorite Krispy Kreme doughnut shop.
The Winston-Salem Journal reports that Mark Logan, Vice President of Kansas City-based Digital Innovation says the application is available for i Phone and Android phones, and as a computer desktop widget. Users can choose how often they'd like to recieve notifications or serach active Hot Lights nearby.
Dwayne Chambers, Chief Marketing Director for Krispy Kreme says the app is part of the company's social media strategy and is one more way the company can share the one of a kind Krispy Kreme experience with its fans.
The application can be downloaded for free from the company's website or from the Andriod Market and Itunes Store.
The first Krispy Kreme opened in 1937 in what is now historic Old-Salem. Today, there are more than 670 stores worldwide, including Canada and Japan.
