GSO woman tracks Haiti relief via Facebook
January 14, 2010 | Kathryn Mobley
In Greensboro, one woman is using the internet to get current updates on relief efforts in Haiti.
24-year-old Shannon Rogers just returned from Port Au Prince last Saturday. She's in training with the Salvation Army and was in Haiti for a week doing mission work.
Now she's on facebook with a couple running a missionary compound in Haiti.
Shannon also spent a few days in the smaller community about 45 minutes outside of Port Au Prince. But she's still waiting to learn how residents there are doing.
Before Tuesday's earthquake, Shannon was planning to return to Port Au Prince and live for 3 months at the Pfoffs (Poffs) compound as a Salvation Army Intern.
Shannon spoke with WFDD's Kathryn Mobley and says through the devastation, she's gotten some good news.
