The University of North Carolina Greensboro's Student Health Services is confirming one case of the virus.
Calls to UNC Greensboro representatives have not yet been returned.
According to a campus update on the UNC Greensboro website the student is enrolled in a summer session. That student attended class on Wednesday and Thursday of this week.
The student's name, age, gender and class have not been released.
The unidentified student lives off campus and is being treated at that residence.
In the Campus Update UNCG states that the professor of the class has been notified.
UNCG is instructing any students who exhibits flu-like symptoms to report immediately to Student Health Services. If Student Health Services is closed, the school is asking students to go to the emergency room at Moses Cone Hospital.
Members of the University's Emergency Preparedness and Response Team (EPART) have been notified and, along with Student Health Services, continue to monitor the situation. In addition, Student Health Services is coordinating with the Guilford County Health Department.
On Wednesday a case of H1N1 influenza A was confirmed in Rockingham county. That was the first confirmed case in the Piedmont Triad.
In total 35 cases have been confirmed across North Carolina.
