The Federal Emergency Management Agency says its flood insurance arm will re-inspect more eastern North Carolina homes and businesses damaged during Hurricane Irene. This after owners complained claims adjusters were doing a poor job.
On Wednesday, FEMA announced the National Flood Insurance Program re-inspections will begin immediately.
The decision comes in response to a letter from State Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin and Governor Beverly Perdue adviser on the Irene recovery Bob Etheridge. The letter from Friday, October 28, states that citizens weren't happy with the pace and results of flood claims requests.
State and federal officials met on Wednesday in Raleigh to discuss the problems.
