Dell will repay millions to Winston-Salem, Forsyth CountyOctober 22, 2009 | Kathryn MobleyDell will repay $26.5 millions to Winston-Salem and Forsyth County.
The money was part of an incentive package given by the municipalities and the Millennium Fund and the Forsyth County Development Corporation for Dell to build a desk top manufacturing plant in Forsyth County.
Dell is giving back the money because it’s closing the local plant after only running it for less than five year. More than 900 workers are loosing their jobs …the company now confirms many are being shipped to Mexico.
WFDD's Kathryn Mobley spoke with City Councilman Dan Besse about this development.
