2011 Brought Dozens of Job Announcements in Piedmont Triad

According to the Piedmont Triad Partnership in Guilford County, more than 4,600 new jobs were created in the region this year. The organization has complied a list of companies that have expanded or opened new facilities in the area.

Several companies, including Honda Aviation, US Airways, Ralph Lauren and Inmar made job announcements.

Penny Whiteheart, Executive Vice President of the Piedmont Triad Partnership said the region is known as an affordable and attractive place to do business.

" We put the list together to so people could see all over the region in Rockingham County in Yadkin County there has been some automotive manufacturing expansions. We have seen food products companies in Montgomery County and Alamance County and then just general healthcare and manufacturing growing all across the region, so we want people to understand that during a difficult economic time, there are companies that are moving forward and helping our region regain some of the jobs that we have lost," said Whiteheart

Other companies that expanded their operations in the region in 2011 are Fed-Ex Ground, Caterpillar and Pepsi.
