Triad Arts with David Ford Twin City Stage presents Fiddler on the RoofOctober 29, 2012Fiddler on the Roof opened in 1964 and was the longest-running Broadway musical for nearly 10 years. Fiddler on the Roof with music by Jerry Bock, lyrics by Sheldon Harnick and book by Joseph Stein, is set in Tsarist Russia in 1905. Tevye is the father of five daughters, and the play centers around his struggles to maintain his family and Jewish religious traditions in the face of imposing outside influences.
Twin City Stage brings Fiddler on the Roof to the Triad beginning Friday, November 2, and running through the 18th. Fiddler won 9 Tony Awards, and it enjoyed more than 3,000 performances on Broadway. Twin City Stage Director Bobby Bodford and Music Director Margaret Gallagher dropped by to explain why.
