Triad Arts with David Ford Winston-Salem Theatre Alliance presents Avenue QFebruary 13, 2012Avenue Q by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx is one of the longest running shows in Broadway history, and it’s also one of the most unusual. The show of actors and puppet characters singing, and dancing side by side, draws a lot of inspiration from Sesame Street with three of the puppet characters being parodies of Bert and Ernie and the Cookie Monster. In the case of Avenue Q though, that safe place for learning is primarily adult learning. Avenue Q is for mature audiences only, and it’s hilarious, packed with great music, and coming to the Winston-Salem Theatre Alliance February 17 through March 4.
