Jazz influenced works like Leonard Bernstein’s Overture to Candide and George Gershwin’s An American in Paris, and then, the highlight will be a side-by-side presentation of Tchaikovsky’s masterful score to The Nutcracker with Duke Ellington and Billy Strayhorn’s innovative arrangement for jazz band.
