Do you ever wonder what the speakeasy scene from the 1920s was like? Well here in the Triad you can find out for yourself up close and in person.
Get your Gatsby on with a Jazz Age-inspired party that’ll feature professionally run gaming tables with poker, blackjack, roulette and craps, along with hors d’oeuvres, complimentary wine and beer, and a cash liquor bar. Festival Stage of Winston-Salem is gearing up for a 1920s Prohibition-themed Jacks & Jokers Casino Night on Friday, January 18, from 8 pm to midnight at the Millennium Center.
The party will raise funds for Festival Stage 2013 productions and operations. General admission is $50 in advance or $75 at the door and it includes $5,000 worth of gaming chips along with hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer. For an extra 25 bucks, attendees can upgrade to VIP admission which includes a private, VIP-only gaming room, open bar with premium liquors and $10,000 worth of chips. Period costumes are encouraged, but not required, and the event is for ages 21 and up.
