Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering Set to Take Flight

November 25, 2011

The $65 million Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering (JSNN) building is set to open Dec. 7. It will be home to new ideas about how to use nanotechnology.
The inumerable potential applications for the science range from killing cancer cells to strengthening aircraft fuselages. The success or failure of this unique joint venture will depend on the ability of the technology transfer offices at UNC-Greensboro and N.C. A&T State University to shepherd the ideas with strong market potential through the long patent and commercialization process. JSNN is banking on turning bright ideas into marketable products and techniques. With that in mind, both schools are ramping up  their tech transfer operations to take full advantage of the expected research juggernaut.
