Real People, Real Stories

The Wall

November 9, 2009

This week our nation will come together and honor all veterans.

In this special segment of Real People, Real Stories, Guest Commentator Lewis Garnett recalls the Vietnam War. In the early 50's it began as a conflict between Communist North Vietnam and anti-Communist South Vietnam. U.S Forces sided with South Vietnam in 1955. When the war ended in 1975, South Vietnam surrended...between one and two million Vietnamese died and more than 58-thousand Americans died.

Garnett traces his rise to manhood by those who served, died and came home from that brutal experience.

Lewis Garnett is a free lance technical writer and a storyteller.
