The Taste of Southern Latino

November 20, 2011

StoryLine gives voice to everyday people throughout our community as they share the experiences that shape their lives. Sandra Gutiérrez is a bicultural cooking instructor and a food writer. She was born in Philadelphia and raised in Guatemala. Gutiérrez has been a resident of North Carolina for thirty years and considers herself a Southern-Latina. This morning, she describes to StoryLine Associate, Marisa Estelrich, how food can help bridge cultural differences and show us our commonality. StoryLine is a project of the ECHO network and is made possible by the generosity of Salemtowne, a continuing care retirement community, where every life shines and stories are celebrated.
