Invest In The Future

March 25, 2012

StoryLine gives voice to everyday people throughout our community as they share the experiences that shape their lives. StoryLine is a project of the ECHO network and is made possible by the generosity of Salemtowne, a continuing care retirement community, where every life shines and stories are celebrated.

Chris Mullen teaches English at Northwood Elementary in High Point. He also teaches English as a Second Language. Mullen says one of his favorite moments happened last July 4 at Old Salem, as he watched some of his students become U.S. citizens. 110 people from 46 different countries marched across a stage to the applause of friends and family during a naturalization ceremony. In this StoryLine segment, Mullen describes his admiration and support for the immigrants who struggle to become US citizens.
