Real People, Real Stories Big WheelerJune 24, 2012StoryLine gives voice to everyday people throughout our community as they share the experiences that shape their lives. It’s a project of the ECHO network and is made possible by the generosity of Salemtowne, a continuing care retirement community, where every life shines and stories are celebrated.
In 1999, Patricia Tyson Johnson became the first woman in North Carolina to drive eighteen-wheelers for FedEx. Johnson tells StoryLine Associate, Megan Shuford, that shortly after getting her license, she was in an accident. According to Johnson, the other people involved were towed from the embankment and drove themselves home. She says this experience taught her the power of big rigs.
