A Breath of Fresh Air

September 19, 2010

StoryLine gives voice to everyday people throughout our community as they share the experiences that shape their lives. In 1947, Dotty contracted Tuberculosis and was sent to a sanatorium in the mountains outside of Charlottesville, Virginia to recover. In this segment of StoryLine, she describes to her son, Bill, what her life was like and some of the friends she made. According to Dotty, her experiences echo young Hamlet’s words, “there is nothing good or bad, but thinking makes it so”. StoryLine is a project of the ECHO network and is made possible by the generosity of Salemtowne, a continuing care retirement community, where every life shines and stories are celebrated.
