Winston Salem Man Returns from Kidnapping in Haiti

January 5, 2006 | Jennifer Curry

After a harrowing experience in Haiti, 30-year-old documentarian and Winston-Salem native Frank Eaton has safely returned to his home town. Just before the start of the new year, Eaton was on a filmmaking trip in the poorest country in the western hemisphere. He'd been in Haiti for weeks when he was kidnapped with New York-born Haitian Radio One DJ Alain Maximillian. Eaton was held for ransom by Haitian gang members for three days in what is known as the most dangerous part of the country. Eaton told his story to 88.5 WFDD.
