Watauga County Makes Progress Restoring Power to HomesDecember 28, 2009 | David FordThe Christmas holidays brought some extreme weather to Watauga County leaving more than 16,000 residents in the High Country without power. But after days of working around the clock, Blue Ridge Electric crews have restored power to nearly all of its customers.
As of Tuesday morning 2,167 residents in Watauga County are without power and 138 in Ashe County
