Two Deaths in Lexington Storm

In Davidson County, emergency workers are looking for survivors of last night's storm. High winds ripped though homes and buildings in the Lexington area damaging 35 structures. One home on Meadow Run Lane was ripped from its foundation and this is where a 3-year-old girl and a 50-year-old woman were living. Both were rescued and rushed to separate hospitals. The child died of her injuries at Wake Forest Baptist Health, the woman died of her injuries at Lexington Memorial Hospital. People from the National Weather Service are in Lexingon trying to determine if a tornado caused last night's damage or if it was the result of extremely intense straight winds. Utility crews are also reparing downed power lines are people are cautioned to not return to this area because of flooding. Governor Beverly Perdue is expected to fly into Davidson County this afternoon and survey the damage.
