Turn Holiday Trash Green

December 25, 2009 | LeShea Agnew

Greensboro city officials are urging residents to turn their Christmas trash "green" this holiday season. WFDD's LeShea Agnew has more. Greensboro Recycling sites are: *Piedmont Triad Farmer's Market off Sandy Ridge Road *Tabernacle United Methodist Church behind the ball field at the corner of Woody Mill and Methodist Roads *Guilford County Prison Farm off Howerton Road. In Winston-Salem: *Crawford Park on Oak Ridge Rd *Hanes Park on West End Blvd *Little Creek Recreation Center on Foxcroft Dr. *Salem Lake on Salem Lake Rd. *Sprague Street Recreation Center on E. Sprage St. *Winston Lake at Winston Lake Rd. In 2011, people can no longer dump televisions, appliances, plastic bottles or aluminum cans at any landfill in the state. They must all be recycled at designated drop off points. If you already receive curbside trash and recycling services, you can simply leave the items you wish to throw away or recycle in front of your home for crews to collect. Call 336-641-3792 for more information about recycling holiday trash.
