Triad Man Reacts to Death of Navy Seal Members

August 9, 2011 |

Retired Vice Admiral John G. Morgan, Junior calls the incident an act of war. Last Friday in Afghanistan, Taliban rebels fired a rocket and shot down a U.S. Army Chinook Helicopter. It was on its way to aid other American and coalition troops in a battle with insurgents. 30 U.S. troops were killed including 22 Navy Seals. Seven Afghanistan commandos and an Afghan interpreter also died in the crash. Vice Admiral Morgan retired three years ago after 36 years of service and now lives in Winston-Salem. He continues to consult with the Department of Defense. WFDD's Kathryn Mobley spoke with Vice Admiral Morgan about what makes Navy Seals an elite group.
