Titanic 3-D Comes to the Triad

April 3, 2012 | David Ford

This month marks the 100th anniversary of the legendary first and final voyage of the Titanic. That tragic event continues to resonate around the globe to this day. April’s National Geographic magazine explores the disaster in great detail, and on Wednesday, April 4, the international re-release of James Cameron’s Oscar-winning Titanic brings the 1997 film to the Triad in 3-D.

Wake Forest University Charlotte C. Weber Professor of Art, David Lubin is the author of BFI Modern Classics: Titanic which was published in 1999.  Lubin was recently invited to Los Angeles by James Cameron to participate in a documentary about the film. The documentary will accompany Titanic's 15th anniversary blue ray DVD release.

Wednesday night, April 4, at 5:30 in Scales Fine Arts Center Room 102, on the Wake Forest campus, Wake Forest University Charlotte C. Weber Professor of Art, David Lubin will give a lecture titled "About Face:  WWI, Plastic Surgery, and the Modern Beauty Revolution". The lecture is free and open to the public.

Lubin recently spoke with WFDD’s David Ford from our Winston-Salem studio.
