TIMCO Aviation Services Flys to the Economy's RescueOctober 1, 2010 | David FordOn Tuesday, the company which is one of the world's largest independent aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul providers, announced it will open a new plant in Davidson County. It will employ 275 people over five years.
To meet those employment needs, the company is working closely with Guilford Technical Community College.
GTCC Transportation Technologies Division Chairman, Ed Frye, will oversee the training of 90 new workers for TIMCO's maintenance operations.
He spoke with WFDD's David Ford.
Ed Frye says Guilford Tech is about to fill up two classes beginning this month to train those workers. Many will very likely walk into jobs with TIMCO when they graduate sometime near Christmas.
