Schools Take Action Against Bullying
August 15, 2007 | Kathryn Mobley
Across the Triad, administrators are gearing up for a new school
year. And one issue they're primed to tackle is bullying. During the 2006-2007 school year, about 19% of Forsyth County 's 5th graders reported having been bullied - roughly the same percentage as the year before. In that same period in Guilford County, about 9% of elementary students K-5 reported being verbally and/or physically bullied, intimidated or harassed. The year before, that number was 20%. In Greensboro, one school tackled the issue of bullying by teaming up with the non-profit group Win-Win Resolutions. 88.5 WFDD's Kathryn Mobley has this story.
