No Cause Determined in Vargrave Street FireJune 28, 2011 | The investigation into a massive fire on Vargrave Street is stalled. After two weeks of combing through debris, Fire Investigator Mattew Guffey says no cause has been determined. He's asking anyone with information about this fire to call the Winston-Salem Fire Department at 336-773-2997.
On the evening of June 12th, intense flames destroyed Kustom Kitchens at 1759 Vargrave Street and a vacant building near it. Surrounding trees along Highway 52 were also burned, and stray flames damaged several cars parked outside an auto mechanic repair shop. No one was injured in the incident. According to Investigator Guffey, each building is worth about $200,000.
Robert Reynolds, owner of Kustom Kitchens, has built the business over the past 17 years.
