New Little Red School House

Tuesday morning, Winston-Salem Industries for the Blind broke ground for a little red school house. This four thousand square foot facility will provide indepent training and services to adults and children who are blind and/or visually impared. Executive Director David Horton describes three ways it will help these individuals live fuller lives. The facility will sit in front of the main IFB building on 7730 North Point Blvd. The building project is estimated at $750,000. According to Horton, half of the money has been raised. For 75 years, IFB has serviced Winston-Salem's blind and visually impaired population. It also employs about 420 workers who manufacture various items.
