New Babies at North Carolina Zoo

The North Carolina Zoo welcomes several newborns. Earlier this week, the Kudu population increased by three female calves and one male calf. Zoo keeper Tamara Norton says Kudus are a species of antelopes found in the rocky areas of the African Savanna, "They are one of the tallest antelopes they have a narrow body and long legs and their coat is greyish, brownish with white vertical stripes along their torso. The males are larger than the females. And they have manes that run along their throat. They are very handsome animals." The zoo has a total of 15 Kudus living in the African Plains exhibit. And since June, a female baby giraffe and two Oryx calves were born at the zoo.
