Manufacturing Human Tissue in the Triad

Scientists at the Wake Forest Institute for Regenerative Medicine and engineers at North Carolina State University are teaming up to take on the complex challenges involved in manufacturing human tissue and organs using a patient’s own cells. One perplexing question is how they can do it relatively quickly and at lower cost in order to usher the science into the mainstream.

Business Journal Contributing Writer and Director of the Journalism Program at Wake Forest University Justin Catanoso explains why achieving that goal is probably decades away.
