Job fair in Greensboro hopes to connect NC residents with dozens of employers

October 13, 2011 | Keri Brown

The Society for Maintenance and Reliability Professionals based in Virginia is sponsoring the event.

"A lot of the folks who are already in these positions will be retiring soon and we need younger folks who can pick up the torch so we are also looking for students who just graduated from technical schools and engineers," said Ali Sturman, Membership and Communications Manager for SMRP.

Job fair organizers said the jobs can range anywhere from $15-$30 per hour, depending on experience. Sturman said participants should dress business casual and bring copies of their resumes.

"We will have 34 companies that are offering 200 positions in entry managers, senior field technicians, consultant and sales positions. We have a handfull of local companies such as Malt-O-Meal in Asheboro, North Carolina. They are offering one to five positions. We have all sorts of positions that are in Virginia, New York, and Connecticut, so these are great paying jobs," said Sturman.

Applicants who can't attend the job fair are encouraged to email their resume to asturman@smrp.org.

The job fair will take place from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Monday at the Koury Convention Center in Greensboro.
