The Internal Revenue Service is looking to return $164.6 million in undelivered tax refund checks.
According to the Greensboro News and Record, that total includes almost $3.2 million in North Carolina.
Nearly 3,000 North Carolinians are due one or more refund checks that could not be delivered because of mailing address errors, according to the IRS.
This year, undelivered refund checks in Our State average just over $1,000.
If a refund check is returned to the IRS as undelivered, taxpayers can generally update their addresses.
There are 160 people on the North Carolina list — with refunds totaling nearly $163,000 — with addresses in Guilford County, including Greensboro, High Point and other towns. Here is a link. to the list provided by the IRS.
