Hurricane Earl Churns Waters Along North Carolina's Outer BanksSeptember 2, 2010 | Kathryn MobleyThe American Red Cross contines mobilizing along North Carolina's Outer Banks. Hurricane Earl is moving northwest about 18 miles per hour and its wind strength has increased to 145 miles per hour. The storm is expected to hit about 100 miles off the Outer Banks between Thursday night and early Friday morning.
President Barack Obama has issued a state of emergency for North Carolina. Virginia is the next state to be impacted. Governor Bob McDonnell has also declared a state of emergency for Virginia. WFDD's Kathryn Mobley has more.
