Greensboro Jews Rally in D.C. to "Save Darfur"

May 1, 2006 | Jennifer Curry

The death and destruction in the Darfur region of Sudan is getting the attention of many Americans. But some members of the Jewish community say, for them, it is reminiscent of the Holocaust. About one hundred Jews from Greensboro traveled to Washington, D.C. yesterday to show their support for stopping what they - and the President - call genocide in the Darfur region. More than 400,000 people have been killed during the bloodshed, and 2.5 million have been displaced from their homeland. 88.5 WFDD's Jennifer Curry joined members of the Greensboro Jewish Federation on their bus trip to Capitol Hill.
