"It's a collaboration across countries and continents, really looking at improving women's health from where they're starting and moving it forward," says Dr. Chere Gregory, Medical Director for Neuro-Sciences at Forsyth Medical Center, one of the conference organizers.  "Every woman deserves remarkable care, regardless of country of origin, and that's part of what we're trying to create with this conference."  

Maya Angelou says she is looking forward to attending the conference, which she hopes will spur new research opportunites that will help level the playing field for women in health and other areas.  

Dr. Gregory says the conference will feature national and international speakers, who will discuss everything from best practices and new strategies to globally enhance women's health. to health policy and law.  "One of the things that's on everyone's mind is health reform in the United States," she says.  "And then I think there are alot of things that people don't know about women's health in the world, and the disparities the exist for women outside of the United States - and within the United States.  This is our opportunity to really create a public awareness around issues that women and thier children face around the world."
