First Year Students Move In at WFU
August 23, 2012 | Steve Biddle
On Friday, Wake Forest University's population will grow substantially, as 1242 first-year students are welcomed to the Reynolda Campus... and it's a pretty accomplished group of freshmen: The university says that 79 percent were in the top ten percent of their high school class... 35 were high school valedictorians... 63 of the students were their high school student government presidents, and 27 percent were high school sports captains. The first-year students come to Wake Forest from 45 states... 19 percent are from North Carolina... and from 22 countries outside the United States. They'll be helped on move-in day by 100 student athletes wearing their Wake Forest team jerseys. And for parents who now may be facing the fact that they're empty nesters, Wake Forest University is offering a Transition to College – for parents presentation Friday evening at 7 in the Benson University Center. Classes begin on Wednesday August 29th
