Entertainment Innovation Conference in Winston-SalemSeptember 5, 2012 | Bethany ChafinThe Entertainment Innovation Conference kicks off Thursday, September 6th in Winston-Salem. More than 500 students and professors from University of North Carolina School of the Arts will collaborate with entertainment professionals from around the world. The three day conference will feature hands-on workshops and presentations by leaders in entertainment innovation including Cirque du Soleil, Disney, M.A.C. Cosmetics, and others.
Joe Tilford, Dean of the School of Design and Production at UNCSA is coordinating the event and excited about the talent coming to participate. “Broadway Producer Ken Davenport is coming in, and he has a very unusual, innovative, and remarkably successful approach to producing” Tilford says. “I want to listen to what he has to say because, I just want to know how he does it.” Davenport has produced Broadway hits such as Altar Boyz, The Awesome 80s Prom, and Godspell.
