Dr. Omar Ali Says Muslims Are Cautious

May 2, 2011 | Kathryn Mobley

Around the world, Muslims are reacting to the death of Osama bin Laden. He's the Al Qaeda leader accused of launching numerous terrorists attacks including the September 11, 2001 coordinated efforts in New York City and in Washington, DC.

Dr. Omar Ali is an associate professor of African American and Diaspora Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He's an American citizen raised as both a Catholic and a Muslim.

According to Dr. Ali, many of his Muslim friends agree they're relieved bin Laden is dead. But he also says many of them are also cautious.

Also, last November, Dr. Ali appeared on Voices & Viewpoints with Denise Franklin.
