Daniel Ellsberg Interview Part 1

January 25, 2008 | Jeff Tiberii

In 1969 Daniel Ellsberg began photocopying classified government documents from a top-secret study looking into the conduct of the Vietnam War. Over the next two year's he tried to persuade Congress to release the documents on the Floor of The House. When that sputtered he leaked them to the New York Times. Last night, nearly four decades later, the man who leaked the Pentagon Papers paid a visit to Wake Forest University. Yesterday he sat down with WFDD's Jeff Tiberii who asked him where he found his motivation to divulge the documents now infamously known as the Pentagon Papers.
