Closing Gastonia Plant Eliminates 220 Jobs

January 11, 2013 | Kathryn Mobley

In Gastonia, a plant closing will eliminate 220 jobs. According to the Gaston Gazette, Apex Tool Group is moving the work to factories and warehouses in Dallas and in China. The plant has been operating in Gastonia since 1978 and is best known for making Craftsman tools. The Gastonia plant will close in June.

The displaced employees can accept severance packages or apply for other positions in the company. The nearest is in the Raleigh area.
