Candidate Profile: Congresswoman Rene Ellmers, NC 2nd Congressional District

North Carolina’s Second Congressional District comprises all or portions of Chatham, Cumberland, Franklin, Harnett, Johnston, Lee, Nash, Sampson, Vance, and Wake counties. Part of Raleigh lies in the district as well. The Second District is now represented by Republican Renee Ellmers, who defeated incumbent Democrat Bob Etheridge in 2011. Her opponents in Tuesday’s election are Democrat Steve Wilkins and Libertarian Brian Irving.
