Republican Cherie Berry is the current North Carolina Commissioner of Labor, and is running for re-election. This office promotes the 'health, safety and general well-being' of all workers in the state.
Berry first entered office in 2001 and describes to WFDD’s Senior Producer Kathryn Mobley that ensuring the safety of about four million public and private workers is a difficult challenge.
