Big Physics Conference Looks at Very Little Particles

June 26, 2006 | Thibault Worth

Wake Forest University is hosting a major international physics conference this week. 110 scientists from as far as Latvia and Japan are here for the Seventh International Conference on Excitonic Processes in Condensed Matter, or EXCON, which started yesterday. Participants will present work on sub-atomic particles called exitons, which have potential applications ranging from flexible organic computer screens to pollution-destroying road paint. 88.5 WFDD's Thibault Worth spoke with physics professor Richard Williams, who is also the conference chair.
