Last year when Jordan was a high school senior, doctors diagnosed him with ANCA vasculitis. It is a type of autoimmune swelling caused by abnormal antibodies that attack one's own cells and tissues.
Prior to the surgery he has been on dialysis for as long as 20 hours each day.
Coach Walter has returned to Wake Forest and plans to be on the bench for the season-opening baseball game later this month.
Kevin Jordan returns to Columbus, Georgia this weekend.
