Last year when Jordan was a high school senior, doctors diagnosed him with ANCA vasculitis. It is a type of autoimmune swelling caused by abnormal antibodies that attack one's own cells and tissues.
Prior to the surgery he has been on dialysis for as long as 20 hours each day.
